This small Lyme disease book is very helpful because Roi makes it is easy to understand the nature of the bacteria causing all the trouble and pain. I learned that the spirochete is very different from other bacteria, in that it is mobile — travels fast in either direction, runs and hides, forms colonies in the weakest part of the body, and can even change it shape to avoid antibiotics. It can be a snake like critter, next it can be a cell wall deficient glob, or even encase itself into a cyst. All of these forms help it hide from doctors and tests.
